Climate finance essential to attain sustainable development goals

UNDP has been supporting the Finance Division, Ministry of Finance to prepare the climate budget report to show the Bangladesh Government’s resource commitment to address the adverse effects of climate change.

Finance minister, Abul Maal Abdul Muhith, submitted the report titled ‘Climate Financing for Sustainable Development: Budget Report, 2018-19’ while announcing the National Budget for FY 2018-19 on 7th June 2017.

The report aims to give a snapshot of the climate change relevant allocations of twenty line ministries/divisions of the government.

Among others A half-day workshop on Dissemination Workshop on Climate Financing for Sustainable Development: Budget Report 2018-19 and launching ceremony of Citizens Climate Budget Report 2018-19 was organized by Finance Division, Ministry of Finance Supported by UNDP under the auspices of Inclusive Budgeting and Financing for Climate Resilience (IBFCR) project on Sunday, 5th August 2018 I Audit Bhaban, Kakrail, Dhaka.
