World Health Day campaign-2018 in Dhaka

Universal health coverage (UHC) means that all people can obtain the health services they need without suffering financial hardship. ‘Health for all” has therefore been our guiding vision for more than seven decades.

It’s also the impetus/drive behind the current organization-wide drive to support countries in moving towards Universal Health Coverage (UHC). Experience has illustrated, time and again, that Universal Health Coverage is achieved when political will is strong.

So in this 70th anniversary year, WHO is calling on world leaders to live up to the pledges they made when they agreed the Sustainable Development Goals in 2015, and commit to concrete steps to advance the health of all people. This means ensuring that everyone, everywhere can access essential quality health services without facing financial hardship.

World Health Day Campaign campaign took place in Dhaka and Mymensingh city in the country as an initiative of SERAC-Bangladesh, Bangladesh Youth Health Action Network and many other International and local NGOs on 7th April, 2018 at 10:30 O’clock, in front of TSC, University of Dhaka, Dhaka.

The campaign was joined by a number of health experts, academic, and young leaders selected from Dhaka and Mymensingh city in the country by doing rally and discussion on health day. The campaign was intended to raise voices and demands for access to affordable and quality healthcare for everyone and to recognize health as fundamental human rights in the Constitution of Bangladesh.
