Renewable energy is generally defined as energy that is collected from resources which are naturally replenished on a human timescale, such as sunlight, the wind, rain, tides, waves, and geothermal heat. Now think of a grid system which is much better than conventional grid system and can work bilaterally.
Bangladeshi researcher Muktadir Ahmed and his team addresses the Perspective of smart grid in Bangladesh using renewable energy (solar energy). They published this research last year in IEEE explore the digital library.
The main theme of their research is to implement smart grid in Bangladesh and to integrate renewable (solar energy) energy with it to increase production of power and eliminate power shortage in Bangladesh. In this research, they only considered Dhaka city of Bangladesh.

Smart grid technology allows consumers to interact with the grid that’s why Muktadir Ahmed and his team has proposed to install PV cell in residential rooftops, institutional, industrial and other consumers area. This model proposed to install solar panels in sunny areas. The consumers will consume power from PV cell and the rest power consumer will give to the smart grid.

Consumers will also consume power from the Smart Grid because in winter and rainy season the sun is hardly be seen. By this way, we can easily overcome our load shedding system and can improve our capacity. In this proposed model all consumers, generating stations, transmission and distribution substations and operators are connected through WAN and all are having the processor to do the process easily.
